Are you looking for Canon Rebel T3 lenses in 2023?

If you are a fan of Canon’s Rebel entry lineup, you are probably looking for a quality lens to complement the compact camera.

Unfortunately, since the Rebel T3 fares as an entry camera, lots of photographers overlook it in favor of more expensive models.

Since I think that photography novices should easily get help in choosing the best lens, I’ve come up with the list of the five best Canon Rebel T3 lenses.

Canon Rebel T3 has a 12 MPx sensor, DIGIC 4 processor, and an ISO range of 100-6400. It also includes nine-point autofocus, 2.7-inch display, and a 720p HD movie mode. The Rebel edition is aimed at beginning photographers. That stems from the price and relatively modest capabilities of the body.

Since the market is flooded with many lenses for the quite popular model, which is the best Rebel T3 lens?

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 Lens
4.0
$349.00

In terms of image quality, it surpasses the competition in all regards. The bokeh effect is mesmerizing. It has a solid design and it falls into the lightweight category.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 comes with seven elements in six groups, along with eight blades. The minimum focusing distance sets at 17.8 inches.

It also has two high-refraction lens and new Gaussian optics eliminate astigmatism. Moreover, the lens sports the Hypersonic motor for silent, ultra-fast autofocusing, as well as full-time manual focus mode.

Generally:

I have found an f/1.4 aperture to be my favorite for portrait shots, especially since an f/1.2 tends to be unreliable with back focusing.

Furthermore, I was impressed how the lens that is not weather-sealed performs so well under harsh conditions. The image quality the lens produces is impeccable, with gorgeous contrast and beautiful colors. It is by far the best Rebel T3 lens for portraits.

The bokeh effect is stunning, while an f/1.4 aperture produces quite a shallow depth of field. Although my cup of tea is an f/2.5 since a bigger aperture tends to blur out much of what I want to capture.

However, all of the images I have taken came out without noise or color distortion. The only drawback relates to the focal length since 50mm isn’t the best option for indoor shooting.

Pros

  • Stunning image quality
  • Powerful aperture
  • Excellent autofocus

Cons

  • Focal length is limiting for indoor photography

Best Wide-Angle Lens For Landscape Photography

Canon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Lenses

Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 is an ultra-wide zoom lens with a drive system lead screw and rack system driven by a stepping motor.

Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 sets the closest focusing distance at 0.22m. The lens sports a stepping motor that allows noise-free video shooting. It also has an optical image stabilization that complements somewhat limiting aperture.

One of the things I appreciate most about the lens is the image quality that easily compares to much more expensive gear. Another feature I adore is the manual focus which works extremely well, and the focus ring is beautifully designed.

Furthermore:

Focusing is done in nearly complete silence, so this optics is one of the best Rebel T3 lenses for videography. Although its primary purpose doesn’t include portrait photography, it also produces stunning shallow depth of field.

For something like that, you do have to come close to your subject, but generally, it is a feature that is worth mention. Images are consistently sharp all across the frame, no matter the focal length.

The focal length is perfect for wide shots, and another plus is that you will taste a fraction of ultra-wide angles. So far I have noticed two drawbacks, one is that at 10mm you will see certain distortion (which can be eliminated in postproduction).

The second is the limiting aperture, which means you will need good lighting if you want noise-free images.

Pros

  • Superb focal length
  • Excellent focusing system
  • Sleek design

Cons

  • Distortion at 10mm

Best All-Around Lens For Everyday Photography

Best All-in-one
Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Lens
4.5
$330.00

Images that I have taken with the lens are full of rich details, sharp contrast, and vivid coloring.

Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 is the best all-in-one Rebel T3 lens because it allows photographers to take sharp images at maximum focal length without using a tripod. I used the lens as a workhorse and I forgot about other lenses because this one works flawlessly at all focal lengths.

The 16mm starting point makes it quite useful for wide-angles or indoor photography, while stunning 300mm makes it possible to shoot distant birds or airplanes with ease.

However, the lens is quite heavy and bulky, which is expected from its focal length. Images that I have taken with the lens are full of rich details, sharp contrast, and vivid coloring. On the negative side, I did notice softness at the long end.

However:

They can only be spotted by a trained eye and only if you care enough to find them. The lens does a fairly decent job under low lighting.

I used it for shooting at night without a tripod and got decent results. Even though I don’t have problems carrying the lens around, I recommend getting a tripod, because you will probably get tired after some time.

Pros

  • Superior focal length
  • Sharp images
  • Affordability

Cons

  • Softness at 300mm

Best Telephoto Lens For Wildlife Photography

Best Telephoto
Canon 55-250mm f/4-5.6 lens

Fit and finish are very good with quality plastics, sturdy switches, smooth turning rings, and a smooth barrel.

Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 has an optical image stabilization that reduces camera shake by up to 3.5 shutter speeds. The STM stepping motor ensures almost silent and responsive autofocus, making the optics one of the best Rebel T3 lenses for videography.

Furthermore, it packs an ultra-low dispersion element which reduces chromatic aberration and distortion. The lens also has an enhanced coating which reduces flare and ghosting. The STM is quite reliable at making the focusing spot-on, especially at bright lighting.

I did, however, notice slight misbehaving and hunting in low light, but it was nothing serious. Images always come out tack-sharp all across the frame, no matter which focal length I used. The colors appear full of life, with nice separations and no visible aberrations.

Furthermore:

Image stabilization is superior to anything from the competition. It works pretty well without a tripod due to image stabilization. The design is quite nice, especially if one considers the affordable price.

Pros

  • Versatile focal length
  • Image stabilization
  • Impeccable focusing

Cons

  • Focus hunting under low light

Best Macro Lens For Macro Photography

Best Prime
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 Lens
4.5
$499.00

The depth of field with the lens is one of the nicest I have seen recently, with a mesmerizing bokeh effect.

Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 sets the closest focus distance at 2.8 feet. It sports the Ultra-sonic motor which brings the subject in the focus quite fast.

The lens is what many call a “specialized” lens. It is the finest Rebel T3 lens for macrophotography. I used it for product shooting since the lens makes it pop out, especially due to the beautiful bokeh effect.

The depth of field is mesmerizing, just make sure to get the model to be the focal point of the shot. On the other hand, the lens can’t produce solid action or full-body shots properly. It is 85mm and not zoomable, and wide-angles are limiting as well.

Furthermore:

The lens takes some practice to acquire a perfect image thanks to the extremely shallow depth of field which tends to blur out anything outside the focal point.

Although it doesn’t produce bokeh of an f/1.2, it is much faster in terms of zooming and it still lets in an amazing amount of light. The only drawback is the weight of the lens.

Pros

  • Powerful aperture
  • Amazing bokeh effect
  • Phenomenal macro shots

Cons

  • Specialized lens with the steep learning curve
