However, the auto-focus system is a bit too loud for my taste, so even the microphone can pick it up. The lens produces gorgeous images. I believe this lens is the perfect choice for anyone wanting the best prime lens.

The aperture of f/1.4 can genuinely make a difference when you are faced with low-light conditions.

I found a flaw with the bokeh system. It produces beautiful portraits. However, when shooting, the bokeh sometimes gets squashed instead of circular.

I didn’t face any problems regarding focusing, and the lens always provided precise focusing and zero chromatic aberrations while shooting.

You can use a quality lens at wider angles to produce stunningly sharp photos with minimal distortion. The f/2.8 aperture ensures lots of light will enter the sensor for wide-angle details.

The lens comes with an 82 mm filter thread, which I see as an advantage, and it is also dust/moisture resistant.

The construction is excellent, and the best materials have been used in producing this lens. The weight is 1.5 lbs, which I find not too much for full-frame cameras.

Even in low-light conditions, the lens excelled, and it was up to the task without having to go for a higher ISO value. Color rendering on this lens is magnificent as well.

Ergonomically speaking, it is a bigger lens that might add some weight to your wrist.

However:

Since it is a zoom lens that offers so much, it is a compromise that is easy to accept.

Best Telephoto Lens For Wildlife Photography

Sony 70-300mm f/4.5-5-6 is built with a nano-precision structure and an optical Steady-Shot for clear images at the telephoto range.

A nine-blade circular aperture and two ED elements eradicate aberrations, while four aspherical elements control freaks. The image quality is astounding. All the details are tack-sharp and visible even on the telephoto end, while the bokeh is also high-end.

Optical image stabilization does a superb job of stabilizing the lens. I used it for a variety of handheld shots that turned out excellent.

I wouldn’t be able to do it without this lens or a tripod. Since the lens has a wide range and is quite versatile, you will be able to get good macro shots since the maximum focus distance is three feet.

However:

The lens is not without its drawback. Regarding aperture, f/4.5-5.6 aperture means you need a lot of light or higher ISO to shoot wildlife.

The auto-focus sometimes missed a shot and did hunt several times, but it was barely noticeable. This lens is quite heavy and robust, but the zoom range and the fact that it is a telephoto lens should make the size obvious.

In the macro category, Sony 50mm f/2.8 lens proved the best. From the technical perspective, I like that this lens’s ED glass compensates for axial chromatic aberrations and has a distance scale and index, as well as a magnification scale.
