Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 prime lens

1. Fujifilm 56mm f/1.2

Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 has seven blades with a focus range of 0,7 m and a macro option of 0,7 m -3 m of focusing range. The filter size is 62 mm, with a maximum magnification of 0,09 x.

The first thing I did was putting on an ND filter on the lens to do some street sessions with it. With the aperture wide open and an ND filter, it stands out from the competition.

The lens is quite fast, even in low-light situations, and since it has a close focus distance, you will be able to capture close-up portraits with sharp faces and dreamy background.

The motor is almost silent, and the focus and aperture rings are smooth as silk. The images this lens produced are stunning. The sharpness level is incredible, and the number of details is mesmerizing.

In terms of exterior, the lens has a nice balance of compactness and robustness. It feels good in the hands, and it is not too heavy for a prime lens.

Because this is one of the best portrait lenses I have worked with recently, I highly recommend it to anyone on the lookout for the top-notch gear that works well under all circumstances.

  • Compact
  • Beautiful bokeh for lovely portraits
  • Dreamy background
  • Great image quality

  • No optical image stabilization

Best Wide-Angle Lens for Landscapes

The Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4 wide-angle lens

2. Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4

The Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4 has a minimum working distance of 0,24 m with a focal length of 10-24 mm. The aperture is constant throughout the entire zoom range.

Optical image stabilization is built in the lens, as well as 14 elements in ten groups. This Fujifilm has an internal focus and zoom, which means that lens extension and length are the same throughout the zoom.

The lens is quite big, but it fits nicely on the X-T2, and the materials are of the very high quality, so I didn’t mind the size. I was delighted to see the lens maintained the high picture quality across the frame even at the maximum aperture, while the corner distortion was minimal.

Only at 10 mm did I find minimal distortion at the sides of the frame depending on the scene photographed, and only when objects on the side of the frame are closer than the rest of the scene. Image quality is extraordinary, as well.

Here’s the thing:

Though it’s an f/4 lens, the sharpness is incredible even under low light, and the contrast is excellent. The lens is quite flexible and versatile. Yes, it is big, and it looks like you have a massive DSLR at hands, but it pays off for the wide zoom range.

  • Good image stabilization
  • Versatility
  • Outstanding sharpness

  • Distortion at the sides of the frame

Best All-Around lens for everyday photography

Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 all-in-one lens

3. Fujifilm 16-55mm f/2.8

Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 has an angle of 83 2°- 29°. The lens packs high-speed autofocus, and it is weather-resistant at 14 sealing points, and of course, it is dust resistant.

This lens can operate under temperatures as cold as -10 degrees. The maximum magnification is 0,16 x at the telephoto end, while the nano-gi coating technology of nine rounded blade aperture helps create a smooth bokeh effect.

This Fujifilm is probably the best all-around lens I have tested this year in image quality, focus performance, and accuracy. Sharpness is extraordinary at every focal length, even at maximum aperture.

The focusing system is responsive and fast, and the lens provides an exceptionally smooth zoom. Ergonomically speaking, I like the mechanical notched aperture ring and the rugged metal construction that feels rock-solid.

On the other hand:

I must point out that the lens is exceptionally long and heavy with a huge front element. These little things make the lens vulnerable to damage and require large filters for protection.

However, since you will get a lens that produces excellent images in every aspect and that you will get a gem that you will keep on your camera body for a long time, it is wise to invest in buying it.

  • Silent focusing system
  • Weather resistant
  • Excellent build quality

  • No optical image stabilization

Best Telephoto Lens for Wildlife Photography

Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f/2.8 telephoto lens

4. Fujifilm 50-140mm f/2.8

Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f/2.8 comes with an internal focus and highly usable focal length. The focus range is 1 m in the while zoom position, while it spans from one to three meters in the macro mode.

The maximum magnification is 0,12 x, while the maximum aperture of f/2.8 ensures quality images in low-light situations. The lens is dust and water-resistant, and it can operate in cold environments.

I particularly liked the highly effective optical image stabilization. I love to use telephoto lenses from my hands. The fact I didn’t have to face shaking issues is fantastic.

This lens has a low magnification factor, so it is not the best low distance shooting choice. On the other hand, the image quality is fantastic. All of the images are beautifully rendered, with vivid colors and excellent contrast.

The autofocus is responsive and precise. It does not hunt nor misses a shot. However, the focusing motor is quite loud, and it can get picked up by a microphone.

It is wise to warn potential buyers that the lens is bulky and weighs a lot, so it can be challenging to carry it around for a prolonged period. However, the build quality is excellent, so all things considered, it is a good investment.

  • Sharp pictures
  • Vivid colors
  • Eye-pleasing bokeh effects

  • Autofocus can be noisy

Best Macro Lens for Macro Photography

Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF macro lens

5. Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4

Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF macro lens has ten elements in eight groups, including one aspherical element. The angle of view is 26.6 degrees, and the filter size is 39 mm.

The first reason while I like this lens is its size. Compact size and lightweight work well when traveling or when you want to get close to your subjects without looking too intrusive.

The focal length is perfect for maintaining a decent subject distance. The 0.5 maximum magnification works well when handheld, and it can get you close to your subject.

The lens has focused quickly and accurately, even in relatively dim indoor lighting. The Autofocusing system is incredibly precise and fast and didn’t cause any problems in the testing phase.

The colors are saturated and striking, while the sharpness is incredible even at f/2.4. The lens is perhaps limited to the only macro scene, but it is an excellent choice for flora photography.

I had a little trouble adjusting myself to the manual focus, but once I got the hang of it, images stared looking fantastic.

  • Excellent sharpness
  • Incredible color distribution
  • Natural colors

  • AF is not great for moving objects
