  1. The problem with the 28-300, and I had one, is, you shoot with a D8XX for details you won’t get with a lower resolution sensor and the 28-300 just doesn’t give you that. If you only have a D810, I suppose a 28-300 is okay but it’s much better on a D750 or D5. Personally, I’d rather carry the 24-70 + 70-200 and get the details for which I bought a D810.

    • Hi Travis, 28-300 is an all-in-one lens, so you can’t expect two much details from your photos, as the versatility is the main selling point. I do agree that having 24-70 + 70-200 is better then having only 28-300, but for most beginners I think the 28-300 is a great choice as it offers good value for the price, and it is great for beginners to practise on. When I was testing it on the Nikon D810 camera it showed good enough results to include it in this guide. It all depends on what you are looking from a lens.

  2. Great guide but I think you should write more info about each lens.. just a suggestion..

    • Actually I get that a lot, so lately I try to make my guides even longer with more details about specific lens. Thanks for the feedback tho! 🙂

  3. My friend, keep rocking!

    • Hahaha thanks 🙂

  4. thanks for the guide it helped me learn more

    • I am glad it helped you!

  5. any fisheye lens you can recommend for nikon 810

    • Hey Nadine, unfortunately I didn’t have access to fisheye lenses to make proper testing at the time of writing this guide.

  6. Hey Edward, I can buy used Nikon 105mm f/2.8G for around 300$ from my friend, do you think that is a fair price?? plz help ,Thanks!

    • That is excellent price! Considering that the new lens cost around 800$ at the amazon, I said pay that 300$ to your friend and get yourself amazing lens!

  7. This is EXACTLY what I have been hoping for this guide is going to be!! excellente

    • Thank you for the feedback!

  8. Thanks for the guide 🙂

    • 🙂
