Back in the late 1960s I took a three year photography course laid out by a few famous photographers in NY. One of the instructors’ name was Richard Avedon, famous for his portraits. By the way your lens approvals for the Nikon D850 or any Nikon Digital DSLR is appreciated. I’m a retired Professional Photographer and have recently ordered the D850 . Having heard the rumor that Nikon is upgrading the D850 in 2021, there’s no doubt that Nikon will probably discontinue the D850., so I figured better make the purchase now. The next upgrade will be too expensive. Nikon discontinued a few good DSLRs in the past few years. Thank you for your info.

However, it is amazing lens, and it does offer better quality then the Tamron lens. The best thing would be to test it in a local shop and see if you personally find it worth the investment.
